The licenses were purchased from the company Centauro S.A. for a consideration of $2 million.

"This acquisition represents the first step to implement the strategy of increasing capacity in region XII in order to balance the production between the Chilean farming regions. The longer term ambition will be to acquire additional licenses in the region XII with a total of up to 30,000 tons capacity per year," said CEO, Jon Hindar.

Before the acquisition Cermaq Chile’s current production capacity in region XII is 10,000 tons per year.
