Record Earnings for Marine Harvest in Q2 2014

NORWAY - Marine Harvest has reported record earnings and a total harvest volume of 114,000 tonnes in the second quarter of 2014.

In connection with the presentation of the Q1 2014 results, Marine Harvest guided a total harvest volume of 109,000 tonnes (HOG) for Q2 2014. Marine Harvest expects a total harvest volume of 417,000 tonnes in 2014.

Norway reported the highest harvest volume with 69,000 tonnes. Farming operations in Scotland came in second with 18,000 tonnes, follwed by Chile (16,000 tonnes), Canada (7,000 tonnes) and other (4,000 tonnes).

Operational EBIT for the Group was approximately NOK 1,200 million in Q2 2014 (NOK 901 million in Q2 2013). This is the highest recorded quarterly earnings for Marine Harvest.

Total operational EBIT per kg through the value chain were approximately as follows for the main sources of origin:

  • Norway 12.1 NOK
  • Scotland 12.1 NOK
  • Canada 11.0 NOK
  • Chile 5.4 NOK

Reported net interest bearing debt (NIBD) was approximately NOK 7.0 billion by the end of the quarter.
