NORWAY - An outbreak of infectious salmon anemia (ISA) is suspected at the sea site 13047 Våtvika in Vågan municipality in Nordland.
The site is owned by North Salmon farming AS.
All who live and work in the area are being asked to show due care so that the spread of the disease is avoided.
To prevent spread of the disease, the movement of fish without special permission has also been stopped.
The Veterinary Institute notified the Food Safety Authority (FSA) on the suspicion of ISA on the basis of positive laboratory findings for the ILA 26/09/2014. FSA will now take new samples to be sent to the Institute for eventual verification of the disease.
