INAPESCA to Hold Fifth National Meeting on Innovation in Aquaculture and Fisheries

MEXICO - In order to promote innovation and technological development to improve productivity, competitiveness and sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture in the country, the National Fisheries Institute (INAPESCA) will hold the fifth National Meeting Innovation in Aquaculture and Fisheries 6-9 October.

As part of National Meetings Innovation Research and Livestock, Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture/Fisheries, the agency SAGARPA has convened experts from academic institutions of higher education and research centers across the country, in order to expose the most recent studies on fisheries and aquaculture.

For this edition experts from 33 houses of study, including work on health and aquatic safety, mariculture, applied biotechnology, management and use of invasive species, exploratory fishing, engineering and aquaculture nutrition, exploratory fishing and technology catches, are confirmed.

The aim of the national meeting is to disseminate the latest results of research and cutting-edge technologies and foster the link between producers and industry professionals in the agricultural, livestock, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries sectors.

The event is also intended to serve as a forum for exchange between producers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, technicians, researchers, teachers, institutions, students, agents of change, industry officials and the general public to exchange experiences and to help to build networks of technological innovation whilst contributing to the modernisation and competitiveness of farming systems.
