CHINA - Chinese farm produce prices rose slightly according to the latest survey of 36 large and medium-sized cities carried out by the Ministry of Commerce.
The average wholesale price of 18 vegetables was up 4.3 per cent week on week, among which the prices of eggplant, cucumber and green bean were up 13.3 per cent, 8.5 per cent and 8.2 per cent respectively.
The prices of poultry and eggs fluctuated slightly, with the price of chicken up 0.1 per cent and eggs down 0.7 per cent.
The price of grain remained steady on the whole, with the prices of rice and flour the same as the previous week.
The average price of aquatic products was down 0.1 per cent compared to the previous week, among which the prices of small hairtail, chub and little yellow croaker down 1.3 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 0.7 per cent respectively.
The price of meat saw both rises and falls, with the price of pork down 0.7 per cent, beef up 0.3 per cent and mutton the same as the previous week.
The retail price of edible oil rose slightly, with the prices of peanut oil and rape seed oil up 0.2 per cent and 0.1 per cent respectively, and soybean oil the same as the previous week.
