Angola Predicting 60,000 tons of Fish From Aquaculture

ANGOLA - The National Development Plan for the 2012-2017 period has predicted fish production of 60,000 tons, under the country's aquaculture programme.

According to the Minister of Fisheries, Victória de Barros Neto, until September this year, the sector recorded a catch of 12,316 tons of dry fish, which is 35 per cent of the goal established, reports AngolaPress.

As to the continental artisan fishing, the official said 8,000 tons were produced, while the industrial, maritime semi-industrial and artisan fishing responded for 314,000 tons, about 76 per cent of the established goal.
