Fish Vet Group Strengthens US Team with New Aquatic Veterinarian

US - Fish Vet Group (FVG) have appointed a new Aquatic Veterinarian, David Marancik, to their US operation.

David will provide clinical and veterinary services, as well as being responsible for managing the Company’s diagnostic laboratories which offer full autopsy, histopathology and molecular diagnostic capabilities.

David has a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University and a five-year Combined Residency and PhD in Aquatic Pathology from the University of Georgia.

Before joining FVG, David worked at the National Center for Cool and Cold Water Aquaculture, where he specialised in research on fish immunology and biomarkers of disease.

Explaining what attracted him to FVG, David commented: “The aquaculture industry is very dynamic and rapidly expanding. FVG has developed an infrastructure that’s all encompassing in aquatic health and it is perfectly positioned to evolve with the industry.”

Speaking from Portland Maine, Technical Services Director of FVG, Hernan Pizarro, added: “I’m greatly looking forward to getting to know David as he works with us and our many collaborators across the US. He is an exciting talent and brings a wealth of knowledge in fish diagnostics to the team.

“It is appointments such as this that continue to position the Fish Vet Group at the forefront of our industry amid the continued growth in global aquaculture production and the increased consumption of farmed fish worldwide. David will be adding to our expert-led, evidence-based approach and will help ensure Fish Vet Group is able to continuing offering our unique approach to sustainable production.”
