Chris Beattie to Lead Merck Animal Health Aquaculture Division

US - Merck Animal Health, known as MSD Animal Health outside the US and Canada, has appointed Chris Beattie, Ph.D. to lead the Aquaculture division.

In his role, Dr Beattie will be responsible for oversight of the strategic direction of the division, including product introductions, life-cycle management and geo-expansion into currently under-developed regions.

“The aquaculture business is a significant global growth opportunity for Merck Animal Health and we are pleased to have Chris, with his impressive background, join our company,” said Fabio Paganini, Leader Food Production Animal Division, Merck Animal Health.

Dr Beattie joins the company from Skretting North America, where he was General Manager.

Dr Beattie received his Bachelor of Science in Marine & Freshwater Biology from the University of Glasgow, Scotland and his Ph.D. in Fish Physiology from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland having carried out much of his practical research work at the Institute of Marine Research in Norway.
