VIET NAM - Whiteleg shrimp was still the main export item of Viet Nam in QI/2015, despite its 29.3 per cent year-on-year reduction in export value.
Accounting for almost 60 per cent in the total of Viet Nam's shrimp exports, whiteleg shrimp export valued US$ 340 million, reports VASEP.
Black tiger shrimp exports meanwhile dropped by 31.6 per cent to US$ 178.1 million.
Black tiger shrimp was mostly exported in form of frozen raw while whiteleg shrimp was exported as processed and value-added products.
