Commercial Aquaponics Workshop to be Held in the UK

UK - Macalister Elliott and Partners Ltd and Aquaponic Solutions (Australia) are running one of the first commercial aquaponics workshops to ever be held in the UK.

The two day course will take place on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August 2015 in Budleigh, Devon and will focus on the Design and Business Aspects of Commercial Aquaponics.

The course will be led by one of the world’s leading authorities on aquaponics, Dr Wilson Lennard and will provide the attendees with the knowledge required to design, construct and run a commercial recirculating aquaponics farm.

It will also be followed by the annual general meeting and conference of the British Aquaponics Organisation on the 28 August at the same venue.

Dr Lennard said: “Many aquaponics based courses concentrate on the basic principles of the systems and provide no real insight to detailed design.

"This workshop is designed to teach people the engineering and management knowledge and skills required to design and construct their own commercial aquaponics system and provide the business knowledge and understanding that is required to make aquaponics a commercial reality.

"Students will be provided with a set of design tools and mathematical models to correctly size all of the components in a modern, fully recirculating commercial aquaponic system.”

The workshop will be run at Bicton EARTH training college, a UK hub for Environmental and Renewable Technologies and will cost £650 per delegate (to include lunch, tea and coffee both days).

To register your interest in the workshop or to receive further information, delegates should contact Chrissy Prydun at chrissy@baqua.org.uk or Max Goulden at max.goulden@macalister-elliott.com
