New ISA Outbreak Reported in Aysen region

CHILE - The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca) has confirmed a new case of Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA) virus (HPR 3 variant) in the Aysen region of Chile.

The affected farm belongs to Salmones Cupquelan SA, located in the Association of Concessions (ACS) 25 A, in the Estero Cupquelan.

This new detection of a different variant HPR0 was conducted under surveillance by the company.

The authority clarified that the cage in which the HPR 3 variant was detected was already harvested.

As in previous cases the procedures were performed under the strict supervision of Sernapesca officials.
