The resources from the Fisheries Administration Fund (FAP) were delivered under the Recovery Program for the Productivity of Artisanal Fisheries.

Coquimbo cove leaders and the President of the Artisan Fishing Port Corporation, Carlos Santander, received the $55,504,900, to replace the productive infrastructure of the processing plant.

The destruction of the processing plant has affected the productive activity of cuttlefish, Northern scallop, shrimp and clam fishermen.

"As government we are fulfilling the commitment we made after the earthquake in the sense of recovering all the fishing production chain as soon as possible. A few weeks ago we delivered engines and boats for artisanal fishermen and today we are supporting the processing plant," said the Zonal Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture for the regions III and IV, Javier Rivera.
