Viral Haemorrhagic Septicaemia Reported on Slovakian Trout Farm

SLOVAKIA - An outbreak of Viral haemorrhagic septicaemia (VHS) has been reported on a Slovakian rainbow trout farm.

In total, of the 5262 trout in the semi-closed farm, 4800 cases were reported. All fish died or were destroyed as a result of the outbreak.

The source of infection is thought to be due to the legal introduction of new animals.
