Print This Page Vietnam to produce bio-fuel from tra fish fat
VIETNAM - Saigon Petro and An Giang Fisheries Import – Export Company (Agifish) have signed a memorandum on setting up a joint venture to produce bio-fuel from tra and basa fat.Nguyen Dinh Huan, Deputy Director General of Agifish said that a plant will be set up in the southern province of An Giang with projected capacity of 10,000 tonnes/year. All the equipment needed to run the plant will be imported.
Saigon Petro and Agifish still must negotiate partners for the joint venture, the capital contribution ratio and the location for the plant.
Chairman of the An Giang People’s Committee Lam Minh Chieu said that the project is feasible on paper, and should kick start a lot of similar projects between companies in HCM City and An Giang Province. He has committed to creating favourable conditions for the project in the fourth quarter of the year.
