Cypriot Farmed Seabass, Seabream Certified Sustainable

25 August 2016

CYPRUS - Seabass and seabream farmed by Kimagro Fishfarming Ltd in Limassol, Cyprus, has now been certified sustainable by Friend of the Sea.

Founded in 1989, Kimagro is the first open sea fish farm developed in Cyprus.

The company uses floating cages with a semi-automatic feeding system. The fish feed does not contain hormones, antibiotics or GMO ingredients.

The presence of a specific traceability system assures that certified products respect all the requirements. Each product is uniquely identified throughout the whole process.

“This certification renewal is a confirmation of the sustainable origin and high quality of our fish,” says Antonis Kimonides, Owner and Managing Director of Kimagro.

“Friend of the Sea certification sends a very clear message to our customers regarding our commitment to environmental conservation.”
