New data to support the use of Virkon(r) Aquatic in shrimp production
GLOBAL - Virkon(R) Aquatic is an innovative tool for biosecurity in food production. Efficacy against a wide range of veterinary pathogens, including Taura Syndrome Virus and White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) as well as bacteria such as Vibrio spp, has been independently tested.
Virkon(R) Aquatic has been proven to destroy these pathogens in the aquatic environment and therefore reduce the potential for disease outbreak and enhance survivability. Virkon(R) Aquatic gives greater flexibility in disease control as it is safe to use during the grow-out phase as well as in pond preparation.
Combined with its environmental and safety profile, the proven efficacy has made Virkon(R) Aquatic an excellent tool for shrimp pond management, aiding the reduction of pathogen challenge and limiting the risk of a disease outbreak. When applied as directed, Virkon(R) Aquatic maintains water quality and oxygen levels and does not destroy the shrimp's food source, phytoplankton.
In addition to these benefits, there are no residues of concern to shrimp exposed to Virkon(R) Aquatic in a pond environment.
