Print This Page Vietnam – Danish Funding for Aquaculture Programme.
DENMARK - The Danish International Development Programme (Danida) is to provide funding worth DKK7 million (USD1.22 million) to Vietnam to fund a review of the country’s aquaculture policies and assess the impact of aquaculture projects on the environment, according to the Vietnamese News Agency.
The funding is part of a larger programme of support by Danida to improve the management of Vietnam’s fishing industry in the period until 2010.
Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, said that Vietnam aims to improve the management of all of its aquaculture projects so that those projects that do not meet environmental and hygiene standards are stopped.
