Print This Page Seafood export value breaks new record
NORWAY - The value of Norwegian seafood exports jumped by around NOK 1 billion in the first two months of this year, propelled by higher prices and volume. Norwegians are selling and exporting more seafood than ever before. |
The increase amounted to around 20 percent, reported the country's export agency (Eksportutvalget for fish, EFF) on Tuesday. Sales broke a new record for February, and for the two-month period combined.
EFF reported seafood exports valued at NOK 6.2 billion. February exports hit NOK 3.2 billion, up by NOK 506 million from the year before.
Russia was the largest single export market for Norwegian seafood, with shipments valued at NOK 651 million in January and February.
