Focus on feed
NORWAY - Feed research is increasing in step with a growing aquaculture industry. Fiskeriforskning has feed as one of its special areas and is therefore co-organiser of the Aquafeed Horizons Conference in the Netherlands."Our research within feed and raw feed materials has aroused international interest, which is why we were also invited to organise the conference together with Aquafeed.com", says Ola Flesland, Manager of Fiskeriforskning's Department of Aquafeed Development and MarineProcessing in Bergen.

"For the feed and aquaculture industries, this is an opportunity to meet scientists and be updated on a number of subjects, such as market, ingredients, technology and raw materials."
Fiskeriforskning is providing four scientists who will hold lectures on different aspects of feed. Amongst the topics will be krill in salmon feed and removal of persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
"We believe this is going to be a good meeting place, and the conference is also a link in our increasing focus on an international level", says Flesland in closing.
The Aquafeed Horizon Conference is being held on 9 and 10 May during the International Feed Industry Trade Show, Victam 2007, in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
