Print This Page US Catfish Feed Deliveries
US - Total catfish feed delivered in the United States during March 2007 was 40,844 tons, up 91 percent from March 2006 and up significantly from the previous month.
March 2007 Catfish Feed Deliveries Up 91 Percent from Last Year
Foodsize catfish feed delivered totaled 38,718 tons, up 93 percent from the corresponding month a year ago. Feed delivered for fingerlings and broodfish totaled 2,126 tons, up 54 percent from the corresponding month a year ago.
March feed delivered to Mississippi catfish growers for foodsize fish totaled 16,944 tons, up significantly from last year and accounted for 44 percent of the total foodsize catfish feed delivered to U.S. farmers.
The other major States with catfish feed deliveries for foodsize fish in March and their comparison to the previous year were: Alabama with 9,324 tons, up 63 percent; Arkansas with 6,656 tons, up significantly; and Louisiana with 1,932 tons, up significantly.
