USFDA admits label error over melamine
09 May 2007US - The Food and Drug Administration has said it was wrong to call the the melamine-contaminated products imported by two Chinese companies wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate.
Government officials say that these products were incorrectly labelled and were, in fact, wheat flour.

A number of consignments of fish feed have now been found to have traces of the melamine chemical found in April in pet foods. The manufacturers have withdrawn these products, even though federal testing shows there to be no risk to human health.
