US extends deadline to file marine dumping details

The DoC is in the process of selecting the mandatory respondents for the second round of administrative review in the shrimp anti-dumping case and many companies were eliminated from the list as the earlier deadline had expired on April 23.

Three companies - Hindustan Lever (HLL), Falcon Marine and Liberty Group - were selected as mandatory respondents for the first review that ended in February 2007. The DoC had raised the anti-dumping duty on Indian shrimp exports from 10.17 per cent to 10.54 per cent on an average.

About 21 active exporters may not be in a position to pay the exorbitant Adverse Facts Available (AFA) duty, which at a minimum rate is about 81 per cent, and will not be able to export to the US. With the extension, about 204 companies get another chance to file the questionnaire.
