Greek share goes up in Norwegian firm

GREECE - Greece's largest fish farming business Nireus, now owns a 29.88 percent of Norwegian fish producer Marine Farms.

Grecian interest in the Norwegian company is growing and Greek investors now own a total of 12,210,147 shares, or 33.34 percent, of Marine Farms - Nireus is the major stakeholder.

Nireus has expanded its production internationally through acquisitions and direct investments, with key deals in Spain and Turkey.

Its latest acquisition will help to boost its product range with new fish varieties, including salmon, cod and cobia. Nireus has a fish farming capacity of 52,500 tonnes annually and production of 236 million fry.
