Print This Page Shrimp farmers petitions at Commerce Ministry
THAILAND - Shrimp farmers from the Southern provinces marched to the Commerce Ministry on Monday, calling for price intervention measures to solve domestic price drop below production costs for more than four months.The group of shrimp farmers said they want the government to set a clearer measure for relieving problem of thousands shrimp farmers, otherwise they will be forced to shut down soon.
They also called for feed manufacturer, CP Feed, to decrease its feed price during the shrimp price crash.
The shrimp prices in domestic markets have fallen gradually since early this year because of oversupply.
