Print This Page Chinese firm pumps US$10 million into Mekong Delta
CHINA - Chinese food processor TongWei on July 19 signed a 49-year lease on 7 ha of land in the Tan Huong industrial zone in Tien Giang province for the production of fish fodder.
The US$10 million seafood feed factory will produce 300,000 tonnes of fodder annually and provide jobs for between 200 and 250 locals.
The company, a francise of the TongWei Group, plans to break ground later this year after receiving an investment licence.
The company also has a US$3 million fish fodder factory in other Mekong Delta province of Quang Nam.
“The Mekong Delta region has great aquaculture potential, making it a great for us to expand a business,” said its CEO Guan Yawei.
TongWei is the eighth investor to lease land in the Tan Duong industrial zone.
