Print This Page Chilean industry seeking investors from further a field
CHILE - Industrial and commercial development and economic growth have been at the forefront of Chile’s salmon industry for more than 20 years. However, the industry now needs to up its game globally if it is to sustain growth and maximise potential.
This is the message from Orlando Jiménez, Deputy Head of Chile’s Economic Development Agency.
Speaking during Aqua Nor this week, he said that the Chilean industry needed further development and was seeking support from overseas investors.
“It’s important for us to be at this exhibition. We want to encourage investment in the Chilean industry across all trade sectors,” he said.
A trade delegation from Chile was at the event to promote market potential and opportunities to foreign investors. Production technology, environmental management and health/disease management are areas that Chile is hopes to attract more overseas expertise and investment.
