Print This Page Proposed BC aquaculture operation rejected
VANCOUVER - For the first time ever, agriculture minister Pat Bell has rejected a proposed aquaculture operation off the BC coast.
Bell has turned down a proposed geoduck farm off Quadra Island.
"The site was very controversial in terms of its location, it's in a location that is looked over by a large number of residences in the region but also the biology of the site was not suitable, it was not one of the sites that we think has real potential."
