Print This Page EU experts plan hygiene quality inspections of fisheries, factories
VIET NAM - An EU delegation will visit aqua farms and processing factories to inspect the control and monitoring of hygiene quality of fish processing for export to the EU market from September 27 to October 8, according to Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (Vasep). |
The inspection team will inspect aqua farms, fishing ports, processors, freezing factories and fish suppliers.
Vietnam are now home to 245 aqua product processors that meet EU standards and are allowed to export to the EU.
According to Vietnam Customs' statistics, from the beginning of this year, aqua products export to the EU was US$583mil, an increase of 26% over the same period last year.
Vietnamese export of aqua products to the EU now accounts for 24.7% of total exports and has become the leading importer of Vietnamese aqua products.
