Print This Page Funds and technical support for Pakistani fish farmers
PAKISTAN - The Executive District Officer (EDO) of Agriculture, Sukkur has said that fish farming can play an important role in poverty alleviation and the economic development of the farming community.He said the government was doing all it could to aid the fish farming sector and added that the Chief Minister Sindh Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim was taking a keen interest in the promotion of the fisheries sector and the provision of low interest loans to farmers. He said that the supply of fish seed of various indigenous and exotic species had begun, adding that technical assistance on setting up fisheries was being provided to farmers free of cost.
Analysis of soil and water are also operating without charge, he added.
