Print This Page University to assist in Saudi aquaculture project
TAIWAN - National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan City in southern Taiwan will sign a contract with an American venture Tuesday to assist in developing aquaculture off Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, a spokesman for the school said yesterday.The signing ceremony for the project, Taiwan's first cross-border cooperation between industry and the academy, will be held at the Sheraton Taipei Hotel in Taipei City, the spokesman said.
Under the contract, the NCKU will provide a biomedical product developed by the school to the DevCorp International, an American venture operating in the Arabian Gulf area, the spokesman said.
The fish farming project has received attention from the cabinet-level Council for Economic Planning and Development, the spokesman said, adding that the contract will not involve revealing any crucial technology know-how.
