Nutrition focus for training course

INDIA - In a bid to hone the skills of fish nutrition professionals, the Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture here kicked off a 21-day training programme.

Titled 'Recent Advances in Freshwater Aquaculture Nutrition it involves 25 fish and prawn nutrition professionals from 12 States. Director-general of Network of Aquaculture Centre for Asia-Pacific, Bangkok, Prof S D Silva opened the sessions.

The programme aims to introduce participants the them any new approaches now being used in fish and prawn nutrition. It will look at feeding regimes and familiarise them with the procedures for application of recent techniques in aquaculture nutrition.

During the training programme, participants will get first hand experience of new innovations in aquaculture nutrition and be involved with discussions on other issues relating to fish nutrition and feeding.


Institute director N Sarangi urged nutritionists and producers to keep pact with the latest technologies and use them to improve efficiency and promote expansion of the sector.
