RWANDA - More Rwandans can now enjoy fish on their table as prices of this delicacy have dropped by Frw200. A kilogramme of fresh fish that used to be at Frw1,400 has decreased to 1,200.Last month fish consumers were paying more when the city was hit by fish shortage. A mini survey of major markets found stalls and kiosks stocked large quantities of tilapia fish.John Bosco Mugambira, city wholesalers at KIME Supermarket in Kigali business centre attributes the upward surge in supply to high catches.
He explained: "During rain seasons fish tends to escape from the cold waters at the bottom of rivers and lakes to the surface. But on the surface it (fish) is caught in larger quantities."
