Spicing up the MSC
UK - The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has appointed a new Global Marketing and Communications Director, Simon Edwards, to push forward its international brand.

Former marketing advisor for BBC Online’s Small business panel of experts, Simon joins the MSC from Cobra Beer where, as Marketing Director, he was responsible for marketing which saw Cobra Beer growing at a compound rate of 41% for the past seven years.
“It is good to be joining at a time when the industry is right behind the MSC – with fisheries, retailers and restaurants joining every day," he said.
"As a result of their actions, consumers are in a position to become engaged with the MSC brand. I want to put the message out to those consumers who haven’t yet heard of MSC that there is a viable solution they can trust based on independent science and solid traceability.
"I want to get people talking about the MSC and build on the support we’ve already seen for MSC-certified sustainable seafood."
Chief Executive, Rupert Howes said: "I’m delighted to welcome Simon to the MSC team. The global market for sustainable seafood is maturing and consumer expectations are growing.
