Print This Page EC Approves Blugarian Fishery Programme
BULGARIA - The EU has agreed to help Bulgaria's fishery and aquaculture program with the .
It has approved a finance deal to support activities from now until 2013.
The decision has already been signed by Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Commissioner Joe Borg and Bulgaria's fishing sector will receive EUR 80 M on this operative program.
The first monitoring committee on the program is expected to be organised in January 2008. Among the key projects to be developed are construction of new facilities and purchase of suitable equipment for fish breeding, hatchery management and fish rearing. Provision is also being made for land based aquaculture using artificial water pools.
