Next Big Thing for Farm Sector
04 January 2008AUSTRALIA - Aquaculture has been tipped as the next big market in the Australian farming sector.Analysts say the niche market, which was left out of the stockmarket's four-year bull run, is set to boom as the price of land-based farming soars and global tastes change.
Barramundi farmer, Australis Aquaculture, has estimated fish sales to the North American market jumped by 60 percent in the December quarter, while the recently listed Western Kingfish is set to award its first aquaculture licence this month.
