INDIA - This is no sky-scraper, but it attracts more attention. A four-storeyed completely fish-shaped complex is coming up on a five-acre land at Rajendranagar near here at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 crore. The construction of the building has been taken up by the National Fisheries Development Board, a nodal agency implementing various programmes to develop fisheries in the country, to serve as its headquarters.
According to Arvind Kumar, Commissioner, Fisheries, the design for the unique complex that may turn out into yet another tourist attraction in Hyderabad, was approved at the NFDB meeting at Cochin on January 5. Such fish-shaped complexes exist only two other places in the world—the US and Hawaii.
