Print This Page Fish Prices Stay Stable Despite Cold
QATAR - Fish prices have remained stable in the central market despite the chilly weather that the country has been experiencing for the past one week. However, some popular varieties have been short in supply leading to a rise in the prices.
Prices of Hamour stood at QR20 per kg yesterday, while Rubeeb, another popular variety was sold at QR30.
However, King Fish was available at QR12 per kg, while Safi and Jest were priced QR15 and QR12 respectively. Zubaidi was sold at QR18 per kg, slightly higher compared to the normal price.
“Prices are not generally high. They are expected to come down further in the coming days," said a trader in the central fish market yesterday.
The first cold spell that hit the country last month had caused a sudden rise in fish prices as it prevented many fishermen from going to the sea.
