Collaboration Will Boost Aquaculture and Resources

It's part of a wider venture of economic development using the region's natural resources, agricultural and forestry potential, says a report in the Brunei Times. 

Discussions are being held between officials of the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and the Singapore Economic Development Board, which is known to have extensive experience in investment promotion.

Speaking to the Brunei Times EDB acting chairman Dato Timothy Ong said he hoped for greater collaboration with the Singapore Economic Development Board.

"We are next to Singapore, we have a good relationship with Singapore, (their development board) is one of the most successful investment promotion agencies in the world and therefore it is natural that we should benefit from them," he said.

He said the commercialisation of aquaculture was high on the agenda as was Singapore's derive to develop its own biological sciences hub, which will benefit many food and land/marine-based industries in the area.
