Scottish Federation Donates £2K
SCOTLAND - SFF Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Scottish Fishermen's Federation, has donated £2,000 to a North-east hospital unit.
The company, which provides fishing vessels to guard subsea structures/pipelines, was awarded the donation by Shell UK Limited, in recognition of 10 accumulated years of operation without a lost time incident.
Following a previous Safety Award from Shell UK Limited in 2005, presented in memory of former Guard Vessel Skipper Graham Gavin, the Company has once again decided to donate the money to the ANCHOR (Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy) Unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Steven Alexander, Operations Manager at SFF Services Limited, and Duncan Cursiter, Senior Marine Contracts Holder, Shell UK Limited, jointly presented the cheque to ANCHOR Senior Staff Nurse Mary Ann Hunter on 21 February 2008.
“We were delighted to receive this award which reflects the consistent professional service provided by many vessels and crews over the period and felt the Anchor unit to be a very worthy recipient of the money,” commented Steven Alexander.
