Print This Page Royal Visit for Fish Factory
UK - A fish processing plant in the Scottish Borders is receiving a royal visit today (Wednesday).
Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex is touring the Farne Salmon and Trout factory in Duns, opne of the major employers in the region.
The fish factory has a staff of 500 - plus 500 temporary workers between August and December.
The prince is making a tour of the region and is also set to present The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service to the Duns and District Amateur Operatic Society.
Finally, he will look over plans and view the model of the new Berwickshire High School to be built across the road from the current building.
