Talapia Farm will be Lucrative, says Politician
Codrington, who reprsents of All Saints West, said the franchise is intended to create economic power for the people of his constituency. It will also serve to cushion the proposed domino effect the US recession could have on the nation’s tourism product and its economy as a whole.
Speaking to the the Antigua Sun, Codrington said the farm comprises of two 600 gallons fibreglass fish tanks, which can hold approximately 300 fish at any one time.
“The Talapia fish is a fish that is in great demand and we can’t meet the demands of the restaurants and the hotels,” said Codrington.
He added that the Talapia is a very fast growing fish that he has chosen to create an alternative meat diet and one which will serve to meet the demands for the School Meals Programme, hotels and local consumption.
