Views Wanted on Regulation of Sea Lice Medicine

The regulation of a sea lice medicine, not currently in use on Scottish fish farms, is being consulted on by the SEPA as it wants to introduce a new treatment option that uses the active ingredient deltamethrin.

The deltamethrin product has been sold for a number of years in Norway under the brand name "Alphamax". It will shortly be introduced to the UK market for the first time. SEPA wants views from industry stakeholders, fish farmers and health professionals to establish if such treatment options are necessaryy and the implications it may, both physical and financial, that is may have to the industry as a whole.
