Print This Page Shrimp Standard launched at ESE
EU - A quality standard for shrimp farming is launched at ESE in Brussels today and it is a step closer to sustainable production says GLOBALGAP, who have developed it.
The news shrimp farming standard is based on theincreasing demand for sustainable sources - from processors, retailers and consumers.
It focuses on food safety and animal welfare aspects as well as environmental and social sustainability, says GLOBALGAP, a private sector body that sets voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural products around the globe.
The standard will be launched at the European Seafood Expo later today afternoon.
