Print This Page Cooke Aquaculture : Better than Expected
US - Cooke Aquaculture is employing about 300 people on the south coast of Newfoundland said the province’s Fisheries minister during an update about the company in the House of Assembly today.According to the Telegram, Minister Tom Rideout says the company, which has received millions in public money, is employing 165 people at the Harbour Breton processing facility, with plans to hire about a dozen seasonal workers for production. As well, the farm part of the company employs about 100 people.
Rideout says the employment levels are better than originally projected by Cooke when it first brought operations to this province.
