$5 million Aquaculture Research Station

AUSTRALIA - A A$5 million expansion at the Bribie Island aquaculture research station is about to get underway. It is part of the Provincial government’s plan to develop world class research infrastructure in our state.

Queensland’s Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries will carry out the development, which will include a state-of-the-art aquarium. The facility will also include two temperature controlled experimental rooms, a walk-in freezer and a quarantine area and other features to ensure bio-security.

“The redevelopment will complement other state government knowledge-based research and business projects such as the ecosciences precinct at Boggo Road and a health and food sciences precinct at Coopers Plains,” said Tim Mulherin, minister of primary industries and fisheries.
