Print This Page Salmon 'Dog' - Healthy But Not Fishy
NORWAY - Around NOK 40 million has been invested in developing an alternative hot dog. It is made of salmon but does not taste of fish.
Developed by Gustav Fritzoe, together with Mills, the new "hotter" hot dog is about to be launched on the Norwegian market, says a report in the Norway Post.
The product looks like a hot dog, and probably tastes more like an original than the salmon it contains. And that's the key, says the manufacturer.
The companies will spend another NOK 20 million on publicising the alternative hot dog, with the main emphasis on parents. It hopes to convince them to persuade their children to choose this healthier option.
