Print This Page Alaskan Salmon Price Expected to Rocket
US - The price of Alaska salmon is about to jump since the federal government closed almost all of the ocean off the west coast to salmon fishing, yesterday.
That action means, consumers are likely to have to pay more for king salmon and other species this season, says KTUU News .
While west coast salmon populations have declined in the past few years, Alaskan stocks have been looking good.
Thursday's decision means our state is now one of the lone providers of salmon from the west coast.
Cade Smith with Fishex Alaska Seafoods said that is going to make prices jump.
