INDIA - India's Nation Aquaculture Society is to help finance a fish farm exclusively for ornamental fish.

The farm to be established in Chelannur will aim to lift the standard of ornamental fish farming, which is becoming one of tech fastest growing industries in the state according to Newindpress.

The farm is to be built on a three acre site and will focus on improving the quality of brood stock for farmers and also on providing training.

"The farm includes three ponds to breed export quality fish stock besides accommodating training centres for the farmers," Rajesh P.Makkada, secretary of the National Aquaculture Society told Newindpress.

The Society works with the active support of Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), National Fresh Water Development Authority (NFWDA) and Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA).

And Rajesh P.Makkada said that MPEDA had plans and money to support fish farmers producing export quality products.
