Print This Page Fisheries Ministry Urged to Boost Aquaculture
GHANA - The Ministry of Fisheries has been urged to consider the Afram Plains in its plans to develop aquaculture in the country.
This is because the Volta Lake puts the area in immense comparative advantage when it comes to aquaculture. Speaking to Radio Ghana at Amankwakrom in the Afram Plains a patron of the Abomasarefo Youth in Agriculture Project, William Dzamesi noted that the development of aquaculture in the Afram Plains will create employment in the area and reduce rural-urban migration of the youth.
He called on the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports to consider turning the Amankwakrom Technical Institute into an aquaculture training institution.
