HONOLULU – The Governor's Lana‘i Community Advisory Council is to discuss plans for a new aquaculture project next week.
Representatives from Maui Fresh Fish, LLC, will present plans to lease approximately 100 acres of ocean space, one mile off the South shore of Lana‘i for an aquaculture venture.
A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation.
The public meeting will take place on Tuesday, 24 June at the Lana‘i Senior Center in Lana‘i City.
Governor Linda Lingle created community advisory councils to give the neighbour islands a stronger voice in state government.
One of the roles of the advisory council is to identify programme priorities and recommend potential nominees from Lana‘i to serve on state boards and commissions.
